Types and Kinds of Tourism
1. Geographical Type
- Local Tourism (Domestic Tourism)
Domestic tourism is tourism involving residents of one country traveling only within that country. A domestic holiday is a holiday (vacation) spent in the same country; this class may overlap with staycation (in British English), a vacation spent in the same region. Example: Travelling around Padang City
A tourism region is a geographical region that has been designated by a governmental organization or tourism bureau as having common cultural or environmental characteristics. These regions are often named after historical or current administrative and geographical regions. Example: Travelling from Jakarta City (West Java) to Padang City (West Sumatera)
National tourism is the tourism of resident visitors, within and outside the economic territory of the country of reference. Example: Travelling around Australia
- Regional-International Tourism
A Regional-International Tourism is a tourism activities that are limited which is touring more than one country in that particular region. Example: USA, Africa, ASEAN region, Europe, Middle East, etc
International Tourism refers to tourism that crosses national borders. Globalization has made tourism a popular global leisure activity. Example: Visiting Australia the travels to Indonesia2. Goals
A type of tourism where visitors come to the purpose of work, meetings, exhibitions etc. Example: Having a meeting in a different country.

A vacation or holiday is a leave of absence from a regular occupation, or a specific trip or journey, usually for the purpose of recreation or tourism. Example visiting to Bali for a vocation

Tourism due to the appeal of art and culture. Example visiting to Candi Borobudur

Religious tourism, also commonly referred to as faith tourism, is a type of tourism, where people travel individually or in groups for pilgrimage, missionary, or leisure (fellowship) purposes. The world's largest form of mass religious tourism takes place at the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Tourism in certain seasons. Example: Summer vacation to Bali

They might be one person, or a family, or a company, small group. The main is, that tourists together with the travel company creates their's own travels and holidays. Example: A girl travelling alone to Lombok

Travels by land vehicles example bus, train, car, motorcycle, bike

Youth Tourism is defined as independent trips of less than one year by people aged 15–30. Youth travel is also known as a combination of youth, student and educational travel market.

8. Gender/Sex
A type of tourism that only involves men. Example: Adventure
A type of tourism that only involves women. Example: Lparn more about cooking, how to styling your hijab, make up etc
9. Social Level
Tourism that uses a luxurious facility, highest inquality, sumptuousness and elegance.
Tourism that uses a standard facility like price and also transportation
A group of people having not much of money travelling with whatever they can that is not so expensive
